Kick Drum Microphone
The JAID Kick Drum Mic has been engineered to give musicians and sound engineers a flexible and robust tool to deliver RICH, FULL, PUNCHY tone from your Kick Drum!
Extreme Bass Response
With a lower natural frequency than common commercially available amongst “sub kick” style microphones, the JAID Bass Kick Mic can reach further down and provide a low end foundation to your kick sound like nothing else on the market.
This device makes no apologies about the fact that it’s finely tuned resonance, with controlled damping and decay, provide a extremely musical, fully analogue, enhancement to your kick drum sound.
Don’t Buy This Mic if…
you just want to reproduce the sound of your kick drum! There are countless mics that can accurately convert the acoustic energy of your kick drum into a electric signal for live or studio use. This mic is meant to be used alongside a standard kick mic to emphasize the low-end and provide a foundation with a well balanced bass pulse.
Buy This Mic if…
you want fat, warm, punchy, controlled low end that augments your kick drum perfectly!
This mic will give your kick sound an AUTHORITY that isn’t going to be achieved with standard microphones, EQ and compression alone.
Smooth Response
After measuring and comparing a full range of drivers of various sizes and with vastly different properties, JAID identified key characteristics that lead to the most useable, impactful and pleasing signals. The chosen driver that serves as the heart of the microphone represents a balance of resonant characteristics, and damping that is truly unique among products today.
Compact and Rugged
To match the uniquely capable driver, the housing has been designed for durability, functionality and acoustic performance and the signal integrity is carefully managed by providing a balanced output on a full metal, Neutrik XLR jack.
The JAID Kick Drum Mic housing is made of carbon fiber reinforced PLA. The thick honeycomb grill is much more resistant to denting and deformation than standard thin metal grills. The XLR jack is aligned with the microphone mounting thread to help with chord management and there is a toggle switch to choose the desired gain.
